The Incoterms® rules are a globally-recognised set of standards, used worldwide in international and domestic contracts for the delivery of goods. The rules have been developed and maintained by experts and practitioners brought together by ICC. They have become the standard in international business rules setting.

The latest version of the rules came into effect on 1st January 2020. It consisted of eleven separate Incoterms, with some specific revisions that are worth addressing. The Incoterms 2020 does not contain major changes, it is providing more clarity on how to use the Incoterms. The most important difference is in the Incoterms 2020 a new Incoterm DPU (Delivered at Place Unloaded) replaces the Incoterms DAT (Delivered at Terminal). The place of destination can be any place and does not have to be a terminal. Incoterms 2020 stanovujú nové štandardy pre poistné dohody medzi predávajúcim a kupujúcim. Podobne ako pri predošlej verzii Incoterms 2010, predávajúci je naďalej povinný uzavrieť poistné krytie pri CIF (Cost Insurance Freight) a CIP (Cost Insurance Paid), odteraz však stanovujú minimálnu výšku cargo krytia podľa ICC (Institute Cargo Clauses).
